NEW RICHMOND

by Jim
Daviner
The Steamboat, New Richmond was a sternwheel ferry
built at Cincinnati, Ohio in 1890. Owned as late as 1925 by
the Maysville & Big Sandy Railroad Company, and later by
the C & O Railroad Company. It provided ferry service from
New Richmond, Ohio across the Ohio River and the ticket office
is there to this day serving as a bar and grill. The steamboat
was eventually sold to the Manchester Ohio Ferry Company and
renamed E.I. Ford.
